A Different Kind of Tent

A Different Kind of Tent

When one hears the word “tent”, the first image to come to mind is usually of camping out in nature- a stark contrast to the corporate confines of a conference room. In spite of these environments being polar opposites, these are both places where one may wind up needing a tent! In order to understand why, one must expand their understanding of what a “tent” is, or at least consider that there are different types of tents.

Name tents may be something you’re already familiar with, but perhaps with a different name. A name tent, as the name implies, is a triangular tent-shaped piece of paper stock that is used to display someone’s name. These are used in meetings and conferences, at weddings, and even at desks for first days of school. They make for simple but effective ways to introduce everyone in a conference room. Name tents often display titles as well as names, which certainly proves useful in a business setting. A name tent will cut out the guess work in a meeting where partners are being introduced to each other for the first time.

Sure, the attendees may all have name badges, pins, or other identifiers; however, if these are not uniformly displayed, you may not know where to look to find one’s name. Granted, a conference room may be a more controlled environment away from the larger event, but a name tent will provide a larger visual that one can review and memorize when seated at a conference table and recall later when walking around.

Another nice thing about these tents is that they are blanks, leaving them open to customization once you have them. A company logo, custom fonts, graphics and borders can all be utilized to make these displays pop nicely and suit the tone of the meeting or occasion. No matter the event, a name tent is a cost-effective and practical tool- just as long as you are not expecting to sleep inside of one to brave the elements in the great outdoors!
